I get a total kick out of what they’re doing over at Pokia. They’re making old school telephone handsets compatible with today’s cell phones. My favorite is a bluetooth model, with the cord still attached. How crazy would you look walking around town, talking on a handset when it’s cord isn’t connected to anything. My close second favorite is the CB radio handset in combination with a pair of headphones.
What’s more, it looks like mororola is getting in on the retro scene too.

It’s wierd how the world works. All this time I thought these fuckin South Dakota hillbillies were out of touch. Turns out that there just really retro cool. I saw a man last week actually carrying a 20lb, 3watt bag phone in the supermarket. Man, turns out he’s not the tool I pegged him for but rather a really him rancher type with pig shit on his boots!

Hey now. I have a love-hate relationship with cell phones. Still love my old Motorola 3 Watt bag phone. Course, where I travel, not much else works. I hate the new cell phones, small, hard to use, esp if you have fingers as big as, well, big fingers. I’m gonn aget me one of these handsets, perfect for using my new LG phone in the car. At least when I drop it I’ll have the handset cord to get it back out from under the seat!
