You would think that OS X with all it’s unixy underpinnings would be a bear to reinstall. Not so if you have an external FireWire drive. I just backed up my PowerBook. Formatted the drive. Did a clean install of 10.1.1. Reinstalled all of my software and settings from backup. In less time than it took to watch Planet of the Apes. Way less.
