Someone else had the same iDea I had back in september for an iTunes plugin, but it looks like he’s actually doing something with it. Check out iCommune.
Update: 1-17-03 1:33 PM Looks like Apple legal slapped the developer of this and asked him to pull it off the web. Hope you got your copy before they shut it down.
