Can you remember the internet pre-Google? When Web Crawler was the only search engine that had a usable portion of the internet actually crawled. It was painful. Searches, no matter which engine you use, never gave the site you were looking for in the top 10. We were required to dig through page after page of results, and think up cryptic commands to narrow our search result from 1.2 billion to the one we’re actually looking for.
Google algorithms do it all for us now. As you all know, it returns only the most worthwhile hits. Thanks Google, and happy birthday.
