I prefer the 25 foot tether cable that I've got going here to the side of the bed.

Actually, my plan is to wait for the rumored speed bump and make my QuickSilver act as a base station.

I am also waiting for the rumored TiVo-like device w/DVD burner -- this analog recording is so ten minutes ago...

the rumored tivo like device w/dvd burner will soon be available through HP and Microsoft. I have tried it out, and can say that it's home theatre capabilities are far from perfected. but you can burn dvds from shows broadcasted. that's nice, but security crap built in by MS only allows you to view the dvds with a computer that has the yet to be released "home theatre" version of XP.

I have a video card that can record via coax, and can output via coax, I beleive ATI makes it. Its better b/c big brother bill dosent keep tabs on the recording format, and its way cheaper. I think the HP theatre computer will run at least $1500, and $2000 for a model that does what it will be advertised to do.

If HP or M$ make a product that I'd actually buy and attach to my home entertainment system I'd be very surprised. Even if Apple comes up with something, I think it would take some serious Jobs Reality Distortion to get me to pony up. I still haven’t broke down and bought an iPod yet.
