By Andrew Gore

Everyone knows that during Macworld Expo, the only A tickets are the Apple party Tuesday night (which this year featured a live performance by Third Eye Blind) and Steve Jobs’s opening keynote. This year, in addition to delivering another terrific show to the Mac faithful, Jobs also delivered a command performance of a different sort: the largest number of concurrent viewers for a scheduled, live Webcast.

According to Akamai, the company that serves the live streams for Apple’s QuickTime TV, at its peak the keynote had 35,407 simultaneous viewers accessing 5.3 gigabits per second of video at broadband rates.
